The BIG Conference: Big Society, Bigger Partnerships, Big Potential

16 September 2010

The Big Society and the encouragement for local communities to get more involved and to take ownership of local decision making is high on the Government’s agenda. Health, housing and social care organisations have, over the years, encouraged vulnerable and marginalised people to be part of and contribute to their local communities. However, their voice remains muted and the language of needs and deficiencies persist rather than the language of skills and talents. The ROCC 2010 conference brings speakers and organisations that have something to say on the matter. Government advisors, challenging leaders, and inspiring communities and organisations will be there on the day.
